    1. Thank you, Cathy! As you may have noticed, we had a tech problem, and many people were not able to comment. But it should be okay now! Nice that yours got through!

    1. Hi Joyce, I had some tech problems, so I’m not all that video-savvy, but it is all working now! Thanks for your comment…glad yours got through!

I only do weekly posts, as each article takes a great deal of research. (Or I’m possibly a little lazy!) Good health to you too in 2018!

  2. Have a wonderful New Year 2018 Diane. Thank you for your well chosen articles about everyday life. You’ve inspired me many times. Keep’em coming..

A nice video indeed. I have never taped one and you have inspired me to try. One of my 2018 goals!

I enjoy reading your posts and am glad to have you as my blogger friend too.

Taping the video wasn’t satisfactory—I need another camera/phone, but can’t decide which way to go—maybe I’ll just use my conventional camera next time. Happy New Year to you too, Rummuser!

It’s so wonderful to hear from you! I looked for you on TV in the New York crowd last night, but couldn’t see you, LOL! Oh, well, maybe next year! Best of everything for 2018 to you!

  5. Diane, thank you for the video and all of the work you do throughout the year for this blog which I so enjoy reading. Health, clarity about my intentions, and nurturing my relationships are also my goals for 2018. Happy New Year to you.

  7. Thank you for the video — it was great seeing you. And good luck keeping your resolutions. I’m afraid mine has been the same for several years now — keep on doing what I’ve been doing. It seems to be working. Commitment and practice.

Best wishes in 2018 and beyond!

Great praise, coming from you! I’m following your example in become media savvy, winning some, and losing some. I find Twitter amazingly simple, but not as satisfying as Facebook, which seems to be harder to use effectively. Thank you for your leadership, Maddy!

  8. 2018 began with my daughter and her family returning to UK after their summer Christmas in Australia. Last year I retired from work and kept myself very busy finishing projects around the home and garden that working sometimes prevents. A trip to the UK in July ticked some items from my wish list, a trip to Portugal and walking in the Lake District and most incredible of all, to visit the home of Beatrix Potter, absolutely a wonderful experience.
Now I ask myself how do I keep myself positive, healthy and active? I am blessed with great friends and can catch up at times, but there is something I need for myself, I love to restore furniture and absolutely love visiting op shops to pick up pieces to restore. I would like to have an area to do these restorations, but our home is not that big really. I would like to hear from others how they began to fill the time in retirement, to be fulfilled.

My solution to staying positive and healthy always involves a project. Your interest in restoring furniture can be deeply satisfying! I hope you can resolve the space problem, and find a way to pursue it. Your comment took me back many years, when I spent several months in England, and visited many authors’ birthplaces. The Lake District was a favorite. At the time, I thought it was the most beautiful place on earth!
