A Late Summer Break

It’s the end of summer, and a good time to take a break. The mornings are a little cooler now, and although the days and evenings are still warm and hazy, I can feel fall and winter in the air. So, I’m going to slow down, and savor what’s left of this summer!

For two and a half years since I started this blog, my first thought each morning and my last thought each night was writing for this blog. It’s been an obsession, and a great pleasure! It’s hard to believe that I’ve written 120 articles with no concern about running out of things to write about. It is an interesting world, full of important and urgent issues, which call for attention, research, and consideration. One idea leads to another, one hundred and twenty issues down, hundreds more to go!

I hope to come back refreshed, and ready to write about retirement, longevity, health and lots more. Thanks for being such faithful followers! Watch for me on September 3!

We are at the tail end of our monsoon season and there has been a strong revival of rains. Since last night it has been raining non-stop and it is actually as chilly as it would be in winter! We enjoy our monsoons.

It’s good to take a break now and then (I’m thinking of doing the same). Enjoy your time away from your blog… but don’t forget to come back!

Congrats Dianne on writing 120 articles about seniors issues! Your amazing and deserve to have a break on the beautiful West coast of Canada. Personally, I’ve taken what I call a sabbatical from Blog writing. It takes me an average of 5-hours to research, edit and publish a single Blog article. During my sabbatical I’m learning to pivot to writing mini-blogs where I still do the research but now have the opportunity to say something at the beginning and in the comments section of different articles. Normally, instead of posting directly on WordPress I post on the social media about topics that are current today and will probably be very important for seniors in the future.

Dianne, I appreciate what you are doing for many seniors not only in Canada but around the world. You have created a place where seniors can come and express themselves on a vast range of topics; and we hope one of your topics will ignite their own passion to live a more enlightened and meaningful retirement life. God Bless!

More time for you and your Best Buddy!
    From just down the hall!

  9. yep, having time out, even for short breaks is all good – it gives you time to refresh and refurbish, where you’ve at.

even though I only left home for 2 nights recently, it was a key that means that I’ll be off again in my spring (your fall) for another short trip…

however, I have/am on a longer break, I’ve been gone since March from a long term voluntary job in a fibrecraft organisation and it has been a very good thing to do. I’ve achieved so much of doing “stuff just for me…”
