Taking a Break for a Little While

break-1

Once in a while bloggers feel they need a break. This can happen anytime during the year. The feeling can be brought on after a period of intensive regular posting, or by an issue of time scarcity in our personal lives. Sometimes, there is no reason. That is the case with me, today.

I woke up this morning with the intention of starting a blog. Then, I paused and the thought occurred to me—why don’t I take a break? I’m not planning to go away for a vacation to a far-off destination, or even a place close by. It will be more like a staycation, right in my own home.

So, with that thought in mind, today I plan to read a book, visit a neighbor, or spend some time with my family. All very pleasurable pursuits.

When I return to post another blog, I will be refreshed from my rest and ready to go! I’m looking forward to writing from a different perspective, researching new ideas and hopefully some new strategies I’ve discovered along the way.

break-2

So, I’ll say ciao, hasta la vista, cheerio or adieu for now, whatever sentiments apply. Wish me luck and bon voyage! I’ll see you in a couple of weeks!

    1. Thanks, Linda! I was pleased with myself for blogging steadily (almost every week) since Christmas, but I feel I really need to take a breather. It will give me some perspective and a surge in energy, I hope!

  1. Enjoy your time as you wish. It’s a good life when we are able to do what just feels right.

  2. For months now, I have the opposite. The drive to write, the desire to share with my readers places I have been, such as Norfolk Island, and the Air Museum at Temora – but no time! I have not even responded to your wonderful comment on my About Me page (thank you).
Originally I was immersed in an “introvert’s” project, trying to edit down a manuscript to make it a word count appealing to publishers, but now that has been overtaken by an “extrovert’s” project, rounding up and organising people for a group action – so lots of phone calls and personal visits.
I’ve always dreamed a lot, but now my sleep is taken over by them as I discharge the surplus information swirling in my brain 🙂
Now, you’ll really need a break after absorbing all that!
    Enjoy the down time.

  3. I’m happy about this break and I’ll try not to think about what I’ll blog about next. It will all come together when I get back, I’m sure. Meanwhile, I’ll turn my attention to my second book, something I’ve put on the back burner for far too long. Thank you for your thoughts, Anneli.
